Help map the state of freelance journalism

Freelance journalists across Europe play a vital role in producing quality journalism that promotes healthy democracies and informed societies. Meanwhile, the community continuously faces increasing professional and personal challenges.

Because of this, as part of the Freelance journalism Assembly, the European Journalism Centre foundation (EJC), with the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is launching the Freelance journalism in Europe survey which aims to answer questions about the needs and priorities of freelance journalists in order to highlight their work and challenges, design new initiatives to support and protect freelance journalism and facilitate collaborative solutions that can positively impact the freelance journalism ecosystem.

  • Freelance journalists based in Europe can participate.
  • It is available in English, French and Spanish.
  • The survey is open until 23 March 2022, 23:59 CET.
  • Participants can win useful rewards, including a flight and accommodation to attend the International Journalism Festival in Perugia.

Here, you will find some informative materials as well as social media posts.
